MEMPHIS, TN - Shelby County District Attorney Bill Gibbons announced Friday that a Memphis man was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of a victim whose body was found in a city park two years ago.

A jury on Thursday found David Milken, 31, guilty as indicted for first degree murder and especially aggravated robbery. The victim, Charlie Jackson, Jr., was killed from a gunshot wound to the head. His body was found in the early morning hours of April 23, 2004 in Will Carruthers Park, located on Neely Road. A few hours later, Jackson's car was found burned in the rear of 4222 Millbranch Road.

Milken is scheduled to be sentenced for the especially aggravated robbery on March 7, 2006 in Criminal Court Division 8.

Two co-defendants, Charles Curtis, 33, and Willis Ayers, 26, are awaiting trial. Both also face first degree murder and especially aggravated robbery charges.
