MEMPHIS, TN – Shelby County District Attorney Bill Gibbons announced Thursday that it took a jury approximately two hours to convict a Mississippi man in the so called Germantown “creeper” case.
The jury found Willie Price, 31, of Marshall County, Mississippi, guilty as indicted for aggravated rape, two counts of aggravated burglary and robbery. Price faces up to 40 years in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Chris Craft on February 23, 2007.
Price entered a Germantown house in February 2003 and stole $50 from the victims inside. He returned and broke into the same home one month later and raped a woman—one of the victims from the earlier crime.
Price faces numerous other state charges for burglary and theft in connection with several unrelated incidents in Germantown.
Aggravated rape is a charge covered by the District Attorney’s “No Deals” policy on violent crimes.
Assistant District Attorneys Alanda Dwyer and Nicole Germain prosecuted this case.
