Memphis, TN – The Shelby County Grand Jury today indicted three men on charges related to the April 11, 2002 shooting death of 22-year-old Montreal Graham. The three men, 21-year-old Jarvis Harris, 20-year-old Maurice Thomas, and 20-year-old Thaddeus Johnson, were each indicted on one count of first degree murder and one count of criminal attempt first degree murder.
The shooting occurred at 1774 St. Henry Place. The victim, who died at the scene, was shot once in the head and once in the thigh.
Memphis Police arrested the defendants separately, just days after the incident. They are currently in custody at the Shelby County Jail.
This case is being prosecuted by Jennifer Nichols, director of the District Attorney’s Office Anti-Gang Unit.
Tennessee law states a person convicted of first degree murder shall be punished by death, imprisonment for life, or imprisonment for life with possibility of parole.
The first degree murder charge is covered by the District Attorney’s “No Deals” policy on violent crimes.
