District Attorney's Office Dismisses Charges Against Defendants Arrested After Altercation with Police

The decision to dismiss criminal charges against five individuals involved in a May incident with three Memphis police officers outside a south Memphis business was made following a TBI investigation, requested by the D.A. Additionally, the District Attorney announced there would be no state charges filed against police officers on the basis of the TBI investigation.

Teens Charged in Violent Valentine's Day Crime Spree Indicted by Grand Jury

The Grand Jury indicted Won Pierce, 19, Tommy Brown, 17, and Deandre Clark, 18, each on two counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of attempted aggravated robbery, and aggravated assault. A fourth co-defendant, Preston Williams, 19, was indicted for aggravated robbery. The four defendants, all students at East High School, are charged with committing a series of assaults and armed robberies on February 14 throughout Germantown and Memphis.

17 "Taliban" Gang Members Indicted by Grand Jury on Violent Felony Charges

The state grand jury returned 33 indictments against 17 members of the "Taliban" gang for charges raging from attempted second degree murder to aggravated robbery. The gang members call themselves the "Taliban" in reference to the way they wrap towels around their heads when committing crimes.
