MEMPHIS – December 10, 2015 - A volunteer for a program that provides role models for children was sentenced Friday to 34 years in prison with no parole for raping a 7-year-old boy he was to mentor, said Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich.
Christopher Bostick was sentenced by Criminal Court Judge James Beasley Jr. to 25 years for rape of a child and nine years for aggravated sexual battery.
Bostick, 24, was convicted in September of sexually assaulting the child in October of 2012 at the defendant’s home in the 2700 block of Stage Park Drive in Bartlett.
The jury deliberated just 20 minutes before reaching its verdict. The case was handled by Asst. Dist. Attys. Jessica Banti and Lessie Rainey.
Banti is a member of the DA’s Special Victims Unit (SVU) which prosecutes cases of child sexual abuse and severe physical abuse of child victims; rape and aggravated rape of adult victims, and abuse of elderly and vulnerable adults.
