Teen Indicted in Woman’s Shooting Death

MEMPHIS – April 13, 2016 - An 18-year-old man has been indicted on first-degree murder charges in the shooting death last year of a woman in the Westwood area of southwest Memphis, Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich said Wednesday.
Demetrius Lewis is being held without bond in the Shelby County Jail.
He is charged with the premeditated murder of Katrina Malone, 33, who was shot multiple times after a brief exchange of words around 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 7, 2015, outside a residence in the 700 block of Crillion Drive.
Lewis was arrested later after being identified by witnesses.
The case is being handled by Asst. Dist. Atty. Kirby May.
