Aug. 13, 2018 – A southwest Memphis man has been convicted as charged of second-degree murder in the shooting death last year of a 23-year-old acquaintance, Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich said Monday.
A Criminal Court jury returned the verdict late Friday against Kejuan King, also 23, who will be sentenced Sept. 14 by Judge James Lammey Jr.
Investigators said victim Adarrell Anderson died from multiple gunshot wounds on Jan. 13, 2017, outside a convenience store in the 4600 block of Horn Lake Road near Shelby Drive. They said King and Anderson knew one another and had an ongoing dispute.
King was arrested five days later.
The case was handled by Asst. Dist. Attys. Stephanie Johnson and Jamie Kidd.
