Aug. 22, 2018 – A 31-year-old woman was indicted Tuesday on second-degree murder charges stemming from the shooting death of her boyfriend earlier this year in southeast Memphis, said Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich.
Defendant Franchesca Gray is being held on $150,000 bond.
Investigators said Amos Oyeleye, 31, was found dead of a gunshot wound on Feb. 13, 2018, in an apartment in the 2700 block of Robin Park Circle where he and Gray lived.
They said the couple got into a heated argument and that Gray grabbed a pistol and shot Oyeleye.
The case is being handled by Asst. Dist. Atty. Scott Smith of the DA’s Domestic Violence Prosecution Unit which prosecutes felony cases of domestic assault and homicide committed by intimate partners.
The Unit also works closely with the Shelby County Family Safety Center to provide services and assistance to victims and their families.
