Teen Indicted in Dice Game Homicide

Feb. 5, 2019 – A 19-year-old man was indicted Tuesday on second-degree murder charges stemming from the shooting death of another teen following an argument during a dice game, said Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich.
JoeVon Henderson, who was 17 at the time, was transferred from Juvenile Court to be tried as an adult. He is being held in the Shelby County Jail on bond of $150,000.
The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on April 20, 2017, behind a house in the 200 block of Vaal Ave. just north of Riverview Park.
An investigation showed that during a dice game, an argument over money erupted and 19-year-old Kelton Guy was shot and killed by another player. Henderson was developed as a suspect and was arrested and charged about five weeks later.
