Man Indicted in Fatal Shooting in Whitehaven

April 23, 2019 – A 30-year-old man was indicted Tuesday on first-degree murder and other felony charges in the shooting death last year of an acquaintance in Whitehaven, said Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich.
A grand jury also indicted defendant Keith Tate on charges of convicted felon in possession of a firearm for prior crimes of violence and drugs.
He was indicted for the death of Marquis Evans, 33, who was found shot multiple times on Sept. 27, 2018, in the 4800 block of Montee Road near West Shelby Drive and Horn Lake Road.
The case is being handled by Asst. Dist. Atty. Meghan Fowler of the DA’s Special Prosecution Unit which seeks maximum sentencing for repeat felony offenders.
