Stepson Sentenced to 22 Years in Prison for Coach’s Murder

MEMPHIS – Oct. 1, 2014 - A man was sentenced Wednesday to 22 years in prison with no parole for the shooting death last year of his stepfather in his Cordova home, said Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich.
Dwayne Moore, 21, was convicted in June of shooting to death Jimmy McClain, 49, whose body was found on Feb. 22, 2013, in his home at 7667 Cordova Club.
McClain was assistant basketball coach at Ridgeway High School. Moore is the son of McClain’s estranged wife.
The case was handled by assistant district attorney Paul Hagerman. Judge Caroyn Wade-Blackett issued the sentence.
