Do The Write Thing 2015 Do The Write Thing 2015 SCDAG, NCSV
MEMPHIS, TN - Feb. 26, 2015 - This year more than 1200 middle school students from 23 Shelby County Schools have submitted essays for the "Do the WRITE Thing" (DTWT) Challenge.
The DTWT Challenge (the “Challenge”) is an initiative of the National Campaign to Stop Violence (NCSV) designed to give middle school students the opportunity to examine the impact of youth violence on their lives and to communicate in writing what they think should be done to change the culture of violence.
This week, University of Memphis Law School students read each of the essays to select two essays from each school.
The 46 essayists will be honored at the DTWT Challenge Banquet at 6pm on Thursday, March 26, 2015.
Two finalists will be named at the banquet and will travel to Washington, D.C. this summer to represent Shelby County in the DTWT National Recognition Ceremony.
