MEMPHIS – May 4, 2015 - A man has been convicted of pointing a gun at an acquaintance and robbing him of $300 in a North Memphis parking lot three years ago, said Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich Monday.
A Criminal Court jury on Friday convicted Terrance Stepheny, 24, of aggravated robbery for the incident that occurred on March 2, 2012, in a parking lot in the 1400 block of Jackson Ave.
The victim who later identified Stepheny said they knew one another from the neighborhood.
He said Stepheny beckoned him to the parking lot and then pointed a gun at him, reached into the victim’s pocket and removed $300 cash.
Stepheny faces 12 to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced May 29 by Judge Chris Craft.
The case was handled by Asst. Dist. Atty. Muriel Malone.
