October 12, 2011 - Shelby County District Attorney General Amy Weirich and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Director Mark Gwyn announced that a state grand jury has charged Millington Mayor Richard Hodges with two counts of bribery.
Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), detectives from the Shelby County District Attorney General’s (SCDAG) Criminal Investigation Division and Shelby County Sheriff’s deputies took Hodges into custody at his office in Millington City Hall at approximately 1:15 PM this afternoon. Hodges is accused of soliciting money in exchange for political favors.
The charges are a result of TBI and SCDAG investigation into allegations of official misconduct by public officials in Millington, TN.
The investigation, which began in December 2010, remains ongoing. The charges against Hodges will be prosecuted by the Shelby County District Attorney General’s Office.
