Man Indicted in Motel Room Shooting
July 12, 2022 – A Memphis man has been indicted in the shooting death of an acquaintance last year in a Whitehaven motel room, said Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich.
A grand jury indicted John Michael Glenn, 30, on a count of first-degree murder. He is being held in the Shelby County Jail on $500,000 bond.
The shooting occurred around 12:10 a.m. on Nov. 17, 2021, at the Motel 6 on East Brooks Road where police found 34-year-old Joshua Stittiams on a bed and unresponsive.
He had been shot in the neck, shoulder and left hand. Paramedics pronounced him dead a short time later.
Video surveillance and witness statements led to Glenn being arrested and charged in the homicide.
The case is being handled by Chief Prosecutor Stephanie Johnson of the District Attorney’s Vertical Team 2 which prosecutes cases in General Sessions Division 9 (Mental Health Court) and in Criminal Court Division 2.
