Woman Indicted in Uncle’s Shooting Death
March 8, 2022 – A 51-year-old woman has been indicted in the early-morning shooting death of her uncle in 2020 following a family Christmas party at his Frayser home, said Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich.
A grand jury indicted Jessie Ann Brown on a count of second-degree murder. She is being held on $500,000 bond.
The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on Dec. 20, 2020, at the home of Quint Crowder in the 1500 block of Paullus Drive. Investigators said Brown began pounding on a bedroom and told Crowder’s wife that she had killed him.
They walked down the hall and into the den where Crowder, 58, was on the floor, bleeding from a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to a hospital where he died later that day.
The case is being handled by Asst. Dist. Atty. Brad Reasonover of the District Attorney’s Vertical Team 3 which prosecutes cases in General Sessions Division 11 and in Criminal Court Division 3.
