Customer Convicted of Groping Hair Stylist
May 31, 2022 – A 67-year-old Cordova man has been convicted of having unlawful sexual contact with a hair stylist who had just given him a haircut, said Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich.
A Criminal Court jury convicted Danny Silsbe of the felony offense of sexual battery. He remains free on bond and is set for sentencing on July 6.
The incident occurred on May 16, 2019, at a men’s barbershop in the 9000 block of Highway 64 where the female stylist said Silsbe walked closely behind her and rubbed against her buttocks after he asked to see some hair products.
She said Silsbe then claimed to be having difficulty at the checkout kiosk and that when she walked around to help he reached out and touched her left breast. Investigators obtained video from surveillance cameras in the business.
The woman said she notified her supervisor as soon at Silsbe left.
The case was handled by Asst. Dist. Attys. Brad Reasonover and Rachel Moore of the District Attorney’s Vertical Team 3 which prosecutes cases in General Sessions Division 11 and in Criminal Court Division 3.
