Jury Convicts Man of Rape of a Child

Shelby County, TN — Following a two-day trial, a jury has convicted Jesus Castanon of Rape of a Child. During the trial, the State presented critical evidence, including a 2019 forensic interview video in which the child, then nine years old, bravely recounted the traumatic events. Her testimony revealed that the assaults had begun when she was only three years old.

Castanon was a trusted friend of the child’s grandmother. This conviction is a testament to the victim’s bravery in coming forward and the dedication of those who worked tirelessly to seek justice on her behalf.
