Man Found Guilty of Multiple Offenses Including Rape of a Child

Shelby County, TN— A Shelby County jury has convicted a man on multiple charges, including two counts of Rape of a Child, two counts of Aggravated Sexual Battery, and one count of Sexual Battery by an Authority Figure.

JP Burrow stood trial for assaulting two girls while they were between the ages of 6 and 13. The case was classified as a Range 2 offense, indicating the severity of the charges and the potential sentencing range.

During the three-day trial, the defendant took the stand in his own defense. Still, the jury ultimately found him guilty after the State presented compelling evidence, including victim testimony and investigative findings. The case originated from a Forcible Rape and Forcible Sodomy report filed with the Memphis Police Department in 2021, which led to Burrow’s arrest and subsequent prosecution.

Sentencing for Burrow is scheduled for March 21, 2025.
