Man Sentenced to 23 Years for Deadly Robbery

Shelby County, TN – A 23-year-old man has been sentenced to 23 years in prison without the possibility of parole after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in connection with a deadly shooting outside a Parkway Village grocery store in 2023.

According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), Landon Quinton and another man approached two individuals outside the Z Market on South Perkins Road on Sunday, January 22. During the encounter, Quinton's accomplice pistol-whipped one of the victims and stole cash, a cellphone, and car keys. Quinton then shot the second victim before the two fled the scene.

The victim who was shot was pronounced dead on the scene.

MPD officers quickly located Quinton on Cottonwood, observed him discard a handgun into a yard, and apprehended him after a brief foot chase.
