Two Indicted in Robbery, Murder Of Victim Who Tried to Flee
June 24, 2022 – Two men have been indicted in the robbery and murder last year of a man who was taking food to his girlfriend in southeast Memphis, said Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich.
Defendants Dacon Dixon, 20, and Oluwafemi Bolumole, 24, were indicted on counts of first-degree murder, especially aggravated robbery, attempted carjacking, employment of a firearm in the commission of a dangerous felony and aggravated assault.
Both are being held in the Shelby County Jail.
The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 23, 2021, as victim Justin Flores, 27, arrived at his girlfriend’s apartment on Brook Tree Circle. He was attacked by the two defendants who took his wallet, keys and cellphone.
Flores managed to escape his attackers, but as he ran for help he was shot by one of the suspects. They found him a short distance away and shot him again, investigators said.
He was taken to a hospital where died later from two gunshot wounds to the head and two to his right shoulder.
The case is being handled by Chief Prosecutor Kirby May of the District Attorney’s Vertical Team 5 which prosecutes cases in General Sessions Division 13 and in Criminal Court Division 9.
